RIO DE JANEIRO

Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

With beautiful beaches, gorgeous locals and of course the tiny bikinis it’s easy to see why Rio de Janeiro is called The Marvelous City

With infamous beaches like Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon there is a spot in the sand for everyone. One thing that you can’t deny is that the locals love to exercise (judging by the size of the swimsuits, you can understand why!).

The main streets of Rio, Ave Vieira Souto and Ave Atlantica extend the length of the three main beaches and offer a pedestrian lane that is open for walkers and bicycles. Here you’ll see some of the fittest bodies in Rio. And don’t be shocked if you see a bus passing by where the seats where replaced by a “spin” bicycle class

And if that’s not enough, head down to Ipanema after the sun sets and join the locals for a workout at the outdoor gym.

Now, if you’re looking for a ritzy Rio experience, you’ll prefer the high-end exclusive Copacabana Palace on Copacabana Beach. This area is known for it’s decadence and lively nature and is the perfect place to park your beach bag or if you want to experience the crowds and fun culture of the Cariocas. The Copacabana boardwalk is lined with street vendors selling coffee, ice cream and of course caipirhinas.

Connecting Copacabana and Ipanema is Arpoador rock. It is one of the best places to watch the sunset because you have beautiful views of Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana beaches. Arpoador Beach is a favorite surfer spot. Plan t have lunch at the traditional Brazilian seafood, beach front restaurant, Azul Marinho

Sharing the beach with Arpoador you’ll find Ipanema. Ipanema is intimate, hip and a little more relaxed than Copacabana. Here you’ll find sexy hotels like the Fasano. There are cool lounges, restaurants and unique shops nearby.

A great place to relax and recharge is Leblon. Leblon is quiet and offers great shopping malls like Design Rio and Shop Leblon. Leblon also has some of the best restaurants in Rio such as Sushi Leblon and Zuka.
