And I don’t know about you, but I haven’t ever raised $90 million either. Nor would I even know where to look for the talent to reverse engineer a GPS device. Nor would I bother with a 32-page business plan for such a dumb idea. Who cares if your GPS has other voices, for crying out loud? Is this the kind of idea I’m supposed to blow thousands of dollars on in the hope that I’ll get rich? Jesus! Just how much of the bottom of the barrel am I supposed to scrape for the “next big thing?”

Do me a favor, will you? If you want to help us model a successful online entrepreneur, make it someone normal. You know, someone I can actually emulate, someone I don’t need 13 businesses and a host of marketing skills to even begin to copy.

And, as for ideas, I’m not looking to target the college fratboy market. I mean, what next? A Miley Cyrus keypad? Or have you done that already?

Internet Marketing
There are dozens, if not hundreds, of ways to run a business online.

Service Provider
If you are a writer, graphic designer, web programmer or have creative skills you may already have the perfect mobile business.

Leveraging Your International Status
There are many business models that will allow you to take advantage of the fact that you are traveling or living overseas.

You can do everything from flipping real estate, investing in the local stock market, tourism, outsourcing to local talent and hundreds of other things.

Personal Portable Skills
Most Personal Portable Skills fall into the “natural talent” or “50% of people can learn this skill if they try really hard” category. Things like Modeling, singing and playing poker.

Independent Businessman
There are lots of opportunities to make money overseas for savvy expats. If you know how to hustle, draw up a contract, are good with people and you have a few bucks on your pocket then you can create your own opportunities.

Working Overseas
There are lots of businesses in all parts of the world that seek out and hire people from different countries. There are jobs in every type of industry and skill, some of the most popular overseas jobs are in Defense Contracting, Humanitarian Aid, English Teaching, Finance and Tourism.

Even better – do a bit of each so you have income coming form 6 different sources, outsources most of the work, lay on the beach – that’s what I do here in Thailand and Indonesia
