Kim and I recently took a trip to Vegas for her Bikini America competition and we decided to see what other trouble we could get in to while we were there. We called upon the services of Kaori of Angelika boutique concierge. Kaori is THE go to person in Las Vegas. I asked her if she would give us a recommendation of something that what would be cool and different to do while we were in Las Vegas. She suggested that we try shooting machine guns. You know that head tilt a dog does when they hear a high pitched sound? That’s kind of how I reacted when she said machine gun.

Apparently The Gun Store in Vegas has completed slipped under my Jet Set radar. It’s already been featured on the Travel Channel, Bravo T.V.’s Pawn Stars and Maxim magazine to name a few. So, I figured what the heck! Life is about doing different and interesting things. Why not!

When we arrived at The Gun Store we were completely taken care of. You have your own personal “tour guide” assigned to you (think Rambo) who sets you up with pretty much anything you want. They have everything from Tommy guns to AK-47s. You name it, you can get your hands on it! Best of all? You don’t need a special license for anything. All employees are certified range safety officers through the National Rifle Association. In addition, many of the staff members are retired military and law enforcement officers.

During our tour we got to select one gun from each of the following categories (a total of three guns):

Handgun (20 shots): Glock, Springfiled, Beretta, Walther, FNH, Ruger, Smith & Wesson or Dirty Harry .44

Shotgun (5 shots) or semi-automatic rifle (10 shots): Benelli M4 12-gauge, Remington 12-gauge, AR-15, HK G3, Springfield M1A, HK G36 or Beretta Cx4 Storm

Fully automatic machine guns (50 shots): Walther MPL, Madsen M50, Colt M16, HK MP5, Uzi, Sten MKII, Thompson, Grease Gun or AK47 / M4 (25 shots)

It was a total BLAST! Here’s a couple of quick videos we shot with our iPhone:

Sure, Vegas is famous for lots of other things. But, how often do you get a chance to shoot a machine gun? If you’re in Vegas and you want to try unique things to do like shooting a machine gun, taking a sunset helicopter ride over the strip (or whatever else Kaori can dream up) head over to Angelika Boutique Concierge.

This is a guest post by Sean Mathena of Find Your Peak

If you know me then you know that I travel a lot. Because of this I have learned ways to make this travel as hassle free as possible. The following five things are a must if you want to ease your time on those giant flying tubes.

Challenge the Norms
If you have not already done it, go and sign up for ALL the frequent stay programs that you can. They are free so why not? In addition to signing up for all of them, pick your most used ones and give them a call. All of the frequent stay programs have tiers which, as you move up, give you additional perks. In order to move up the ladder you must fly a certain number of miles or stay a certain number of nights, or so they claim. If you will give the entity a call, many of them will allow you to challenge their qualification criteria. For example, American Airlines allows you to challenge the gold and platinum levels. Normally you must fly 25,000 or 50,000 miles to achieve gold or platinum status respectively. However, American offers the gold and platinum challenge where if you fly 5,000 or 10,000 miles within 90 days they will confer upon you the respective level. That is huge given the benefits you get, so go and do it today!

Take it With You
When you travel as much as I do, you want to travel as light as possible, ensure your luggage meets you at your destination, and avoid all the fees you can. I try to only take what I can carry onto the airplane to avoid checking any bags. This is much easier than you think if you plan a little bit. You can check out the site One Bag for some great tips on traveling light. You can also check out Rob and Kim’s tips for packing light. This will not only save you time at your destination, but it will also save money (no checked bag fees) and it will ensure you have your bag when you land. If you must pack a checked bag, make sure you pack a gun. Crazy right? Not really. You see, any luggage that has a firearm packed in it gets extra scrutiny. You have to claim it, fill out an extra form, and TSA has to mark that bag and positively track it. What type of firearm should you pack? A starter pistol. These are considered firearms by the airlines, and are legal to own in every state without a license. You can find a cheap one (~$50) here. Pack one in every checked bag and your luggage will never get lost.

Leave it at Home
Sometimes you have to pack less to have a better trip. That is why I follow Tim Ferris’ advice and allow a settling fund for each of my trips. Tim advocates in his book ‘The Four Hour Work Week’ a $200 settling fund to buy necessities when you arrive at your destination. This is great for mini-retirements, but it is a bit much for the frequent traveling that I do. I tend to allow myself $20US as a settling fund in order to buy things I might need once I get there. This might be an umbrella if it rains, toiletries I might have forgotten (you can get most of these free for the asking at major hotels), or other small pleasantries rather than trying to pack for every occasion. If you can use this to get down to no checked luggage you have saved yourself money on the baggage fees alone!

Pass the Time
When you are stuck on a long flight, it helps to have something to make the flight seem a little shorter. I have put together a little comfort kit that I always bring on long flights that has an eye mask and good quality ear plugs so I can try to get some sleep, Carmex lip balm, mints, and lotion. I also make sure I bring good reading material, music, and quality headphones. With the coming release of the iPad, I will probably leave the books and iPod at home and combine them on the iPad, I can’t wait!

I Feel Good
Jet lag sucks. There isn’t really any way to completely stop jet lag, but I have found a few ways to lessen the effects. Once you get on the plane, try to adjust to your new time zone. Check your watch and attempt to sleep when it is night time at your destination. Drink a lot of water, and reduce the amount of alcohol and caffeine that you consume. Get up and take a walk around the plane every once in a while. This will keep your blood flowing and provide amusement by watching your fellow passengers. Once you get to your hotel, do not take a nap. Stay up until it is time to go to bed at your normal time. Take a shower and go for a walk around your area, the exercise will help you feel better and keep you awake. Once it is time to sleep, make sure your room is as quiet and dark as possible (maybe use the earplugs and mask you packed). You could also take something to help you sleep that first night, there are many over the counter sleep aids or ask your doctor for something appropriate.

*Bonus Airline Clubs
I wanted to add this in as a bonus because while they can be pretty expensive, if you travel a lot, they are a bargain at twice the price. Not only do you get a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the terminal, but they are invaluable if you have disruptions in your travel. Have you ever had a flight canceled and had to stand in that never ending line at the gate to get rebooked? While you were there listening to people scream at the poor counter lady, I went to the airline club, rebooked my flight with the personnel there (probably taking your seat because your line still hasn’t moved), and was enjoying a cocktail and light snacks. If that happens only once it was worth the yearly fee (it always happens more than once). So if you can afford it, or better yet talk your company into paying for it, I would highly recommend joining your airlines club.

So there you have it, I hope these suggestions make your travel smoother and your vacations care free. Do you have any other tips for improving the lives of the Jet Set?

When Sean Mathena is not racking up his 100k+ annual flying miles, he authors Find Your Peak, a site to help people achieve peak performance in every area of life.

I do most of the pre-trip recon before Kim and I take a trip. I vet the hotels, restaurants and night life like an obsessive mad scientist. The hard part for me has been to find cool and unique things to do during the day. One of the tools I’m starting to use more and more is the services of a boutique lifestyle concierge. They just have knowledge and access to things that you would have never thought to do.

Last month Kim and I sat done with Jacopo of Bravo! lifestyle concierge in Florence. We asked him to give us his best ideas of what we can do in Florence. We wanted something other than the standard tourist fare. We met him at his “office”, which was located in a castle (literally). He is a totally warm, loving and all around cool cat. We asked him to give us his secrets of interesting and unique things to do in Florence. Kim and I are WAY picky when it comes to these things. The truth is, I have to admit, he totally delivered. So, I decided to share his secrets with you.

Bravo! Dream Car

The first thing you’ll need is a “Dream Car” to discover the hidden beauties of Italy. Jacopo recommended the Ferrari F430 Spider or the Lamorghinini Gallardo. For those a bit more budget conscious, he could even hook up a mini cooper, as a very cool alternative.

Bravo! Uffizi Secret Passage Way

Everybody who goes to Florence visits the Uffizi museum. No big deal. But, almost nobody has access to the the secret passage way which connects the Palazzo Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti. Jacopo explained to us, that this unique passage way was commissioned to Giorgio Vasari, the architect of the Uffizi, by Cosimo I in 1565 to celebrate the marriage of his son. It enabled the Medici family to freely move between their private residence and the seat of the government without the need for an escort. I would have never even known that this was there, or had any type of access, without Jacopo.

Bravo! Tuscan Food Workshop

It’s no secret that the food in Italy is beyond amazing. In fact, it’s completely indescribable. What if you could learn their secrets and bring it back to your own kitchen? How cool would that be? Jacopo put together an amazing workshop. You start by walking through the open air markets of San Lorenzo, in the company of a world class Italian chef. You walk through the central produce market learning exactly how to buy produce. You move to the upper floor houses, to pick out the meats, cheeses, bread and even flowers for your meal. You walk back, to their state of the art Tuscan cooking facilities and have a fun, exciting class on how to put it all together followed by an hour wine class. Your chance to bring La Docle Vita back to your home.

Bravo! Hot Air Balooning Over Tuscany

If you’re like Kim and I and the windy roads of Tuscany make you a bit motion sick, then we have a totally cool option for you. Hot air ballooning over Tuscany. It’s a 3 hour adventure that begins with your participation in inflating the balloon before you begin your flight through beautiful Tuscan landscape. After landing, Jacopo puts together an amazing spread of beautiful Tuscan appetizers accompanied by Champagne. A complete unique way of getting a different perspective (and vantage point) of Tuscany.

Bravo! Secret Boutique Shops Tour

Finding places to shop in Florence on the surface may not seem very difficult. However, finding the unique and different shops that nobody knows about, is an entirely different story. Jacopo knows where the hidden treasures are. A professional shopper takes you through the unmarked hidden alley was of Florence to find tailor made clothing, handmade shoes, unique pieces of jewelry and hand made embroidery and paintings. If you’re in to shopping and don’t want to waste time feeling like you missed something, this is for you.

Bottom Line

I could go on for days sharing with you what Jacopo has up his sleeve. Bottom line: If you’re going to Florence hook up with Bravo Concierge! and make your trip unforgettable.

Imagine, having your own place in Florence, Italy. That’s always been a dream for Kim and I. So, when we went to Florence last week we tried to find a place that felt like home, but, because we’re on vacation, also feel like a 5 star hotel. With just a little research, we found it. It’s called the JK Place Hotel. After our stay, it was obvious why Travel and Leisure voted it one of the best hotels in 2010.

I don’t often go nuts over hotels, because I spend a lot of time in them and frankly it takes a lot to impress me, but the JK Place Hotel, completely, above and beyond, impressed me. It impressed me so much that I asked that manager, Claudio Meli, if he’s was willing to go on camera to talk about it (see above video).

So, what’s the big deal, why is this place so unbelievable? Oh, let me count the ways. I generally make my decisions about a hotel before I arrive. I judge them based upon what my ‘pre-trip phone calls’ are like. I sometimes call a hotel, a half dozen times before I arrive, to sort through restaurants, night life and cool things to do. Crazy, I know, but remember we are creating videos and guidebooks and our info just has to be right. This pre-trip research is my first step. Needless to say, I’m kind of a pain in the ass about these things.

When I called the JK in Florence, I was greeted by a warm friendly voice (Lorenzo) who knew who I was (and it wasn’t a jet set life thing) and who was genuinely expecting me. He really was. It was kind of like having a very cool friend in Florence, who totally ‘gets’ the vibe you’re looking for and has all the connections to make it happen.

Within 24 hours I had the perfect list of restaurants, night life and cool things to do that were broken down by specific categories (like once in a lifetime, stylish, see and be seen and cozy). The list was very tight and came with website urls and the name of the people that would be expecting us if we selected it.

After I made my picks from Lorenzo’s list, I called the hotel to book everything. I spoke with Angela, a lovely soft spoken Italian woman who was totally aware of what Lorenzo sent me and was sitting ‘on ready’ for me to green light our choices. Twenty-four hours later, I had every detail of my trip handled exactly the way I wanted. No begging. No repeated phone calls like ” who are you again”. I felt like I was Bruce Springsteen coming to stay with them. Realize, I haven’t even left America yet!

Now, for the moment of truth. After the long transatlantic flight from the states, I had to know if this place was for real or did I just get lucky with some really cool people on the phone? We arrived to one of the most beautiful squares in Florence, Piazza Santa Maria Novella, to a building with no ‘obvious’ hotel sign on it (later I noticed a small nameplate on the wall to the side). In the JK Place, the only way to gain entry, is to ring a bell.

Within seconds, Lorenzo (in Gucci from head to toe) lets us in. His first words are “you must be Rob and Kim”, second words were “can I get you a glass of wine and some lunch”? I was like, this isn’t a dream and there really is a Lorenzo! He brought us in to a sitting room that was totally hip, sexy and baroque all at the same time. He didn’t ask for a credit card, or for us to sign anything. He sincerely wanted us to relax and enjoy our first few moments in our new home in Florence.

Out from nowhere comes what can only be described as an apparition. A young 20 something, in a butlers apron, with a silver platter of wine goblets and a light amazing lunch. I asked Lorenzo to join us so we could go over his itinerary. He stopped everything he was doing and explained every single restaurant, club and event that we had scheduled, with the intellect of a historian and the warmth of a best friend.

After lunch, he brought us into what can only be called the non-check in area. Imagine a private library, like Batman had, but was totally hip and historical all at the same time. He gave us a brief tour of the hotel and gave us the keys to our room. Kim and I were escorted in the hidden elevator (you would never know it’s there; it’s cleverly hidden behind glass) to room 21.

We opened the door to our room and our heart stopped. There it was, our own private palazzo in Florence! Our room had two floors, with a window that opened up to the most amazing view of the ancient piazza (square) below. Oh yeah, there was a big bowl of fresh fruit waiting for us, with a beautiful hand written note.

I suppose, I could go on and on talking about how there are only 20 rooms and each one is different, or how the ‘pink room’ is the perfect sexy place to have a cocktail or lunch. Or how the daily torts will make your eye balls pop out (not to mention your belly). Or how there are more staff members than actual guest rooms. Or how, on a beautiful day you can lounge on the upstairs private deck and listen to the church bells announce the hour. Or how from the penthouse bathtub you have a stunning view of Florence’s famed Duomo. I’ll just tell you to get on the plane, right now, and run to the JK Place (if you’re lucky enough to get in).

My next blog will be about the Italian lifestyle concierge Bravo!, that the JK Place dialed us in to. They totally hooked us up, with a private behind the scenes guided tour of secret hidden shops in Florence and gave us the keys to places in Chianti that almost no outsiders have access to.

I don't have a bunch of time to go into great detail in this blog, because I'm literally on the way out the door to leave for Italy for Xmas and New Year (here's where we're going).
Great question! I speak a lot about doing what you love and monetizing it. But, what if you just dont’t have anything that you are ‘over the top nuts’ about? Here’s what I would do. There is a great guy named Adam Short who runs a site called Niche Profit Classroom. The reason why I’m recommending this for you is because his system is entirely neutral as far as whether or not you love a particular niche. It’s entirely based on math. The math is very clear and very easy. I interviewed him for Jet Set Money and was super impressed. His program has over 150 videos (there short and amazing). If you didn’t want to sign up for his program you could start by getting on his email list and he’ll send you a bunch of free videos that are of very high quality and content. After I did my interview with him I created a niche site based on his system- My Positano Weddding.

Full Disclosure: This is my affiliate link if you sign up I get paid- Niche Profit Classroom

Here’s Another Option:

John Jonas has a site called Replace Myself. John is a HUGE Four Hour Work Week guy. He uses many of the same principals that Adam uses in the Niche Profit Classroom but has one major twist. His program is solely designed for your outsourcers to run everything. John is the really deal and a totally cool honest, ethical guy. I currently have my two outsourcers taking his training and have had great results and a bunch of free time.

When most people travel they usually book months in advance and plan out their itinerary to the last detail. “Monday we will be here, and then Tuesday at 10 am we will catch the train there and go see XYZ.” The hotels are all set up, the rent-a-cars are booked, and the scenic tours are paid for.

I want to encourage everyone to abandon this whole schedule and routine and to get lost. When you have everything planned out in advance you aren’t traveling you are merely going to go look at things in other countries. Traveling isn’t just about seeing the sights; it’s about experiencing the country with its unique cultures and customs. It’s about hanging out with the locals, trying new types of food, and exploring.

I used to plan out my trips in advance; I was the diligent little traveler until I got tired of it. Plans in foreign countries rarely work out the way you want them to and one of the reasons I travel is to get rid of any sort of routine. I want to explore and really get the sense of what it feels like to be in another part of the world. My solution to all of this is getting lost.

So what does getting lost actually mean? I’m not saying you should just wander into a forest and run around for a few days (although that might be fun). I’m saying you should let your travels guide you instead of you guiding your travels. Plan for your first night or two and then see where you end up. I spent a month in China and the only thing I had planned out was where I was going to stay for the first two nights. Everything from then on was done on the fly. I spoke with locals that I met and they told me where I should go or what I should avoid; I then used my guide book to read up on the places that the locals recommended (as I traveled there, most of the time on trains).

Getting lost isn’t for everyone. It takes a certain appreciation and excitement for the unknown. If you are the type of person that gets nervous or scared easily or the type of person that always has to have things planned out in advance and by schedule, then you’re going to hate getting lost. I spent four hours on top of a mountain in China trying to figure out how to get down. I was lost, but saw some of the most amazing things in my life. If I had a set schedule and had to be down from that mountain by 3pm then I would have never been able to get lost and see those amazing things. I would have also been quite upset that I was messing up my schedule.

So why should you even bother getting lost? Well, if you’re sight seeing then you probably shouldn’t get lost. However, if you’re traveling, then you should. Getting lost really lets you experience the country you are in and it changes you as a person. Getting lost puts you far outside of your comfort zone and forces you to adapt. Getting lost means that you will see and experience unique and amazing things. It’s easy to sight see and just go by what the travel agent recommends, but you guys are travelers not sight seers…right?

#########

Rob: Speaking of getting lost. We’re off to Florence, Italy for a few weeks to do just that (and take Jacob’s advice).

I’ve been following JetSetLife and Rob and Kim’s blogs for over a year now, becoming more and more jealous of their ability to travel 10-12 weeks a year.

After high school, I chose not to take time off for travel, so while my friends were backpacking across Europe, I went to University right away. Although I don’t regret my choice, I missed out on the travel experiences my friends had and was very jealous of their stories. As my University career came to a close (I’m almost done!), I got to thinking “Why can’t I travel?” A close girlfriend of mine had approached me about traveling to Europe in late summer so I jumped at the chance.

Since I had been following JetSetLife, I took a look at their recommendations for Europe. I have never been a “backpacker” or “vagabond” type traveler so the idea of “hip” travel really resonated with me. After looking through their pictures and thinking about the time period I was traveling, my girlfriend and I chose Greece to visit for three weeks. Based on Rob and Kim’s recommendations, we chose Athens, Paros, Ios, and Santorini as the islands to stay on.

We began in Athens, staying one night in the old Athens port where all the private yachts are docked. There, we had our first white wine and authentic Greek salad experience.

Next, we spent a couple days in Paros, a quiet island, perfect for relaxing. I celebrated my birthday there while drinking white wine in the moonlight in a town called Naoussa. We continued onto Ios, a party island similar to Mykonos where we met up with another girlfriend of ours. Since I had JetSetLife as a resource, I knew to not go out to eat before 11:00 p.m. and to not expect to get home from the nightlife experience until 7:00 a.m. JetSetLife’s recommendation to have a nap before dinner saved me on numerous occasions. In Ios, I was able to just let loose, have a great time, and do all sorts of activities including boating, cliff jumping, and participating in the nightlife.

My favorite island was Santorini. The island is of course gorgeous, but because of JetSetLife we knew the best places to go. We took a sunset cruise off of Amoudi Bay to a nearby volcano, we rode donkeys in Fira, watched the sunset in Oia, visited the Santos Winery one afternoon, and picked our hotel because it was a block away from the Perivolas black sand beach in Perissa.

We ended the trip in a gorgeous villa called The Stargazer in Schinias (an hour outside of Athens) owned by a local couple that my friend’s parents were staying in before they embarked on their own Mediterranean cruise.

http://www.stargazervilla.com/

– Stargazer Villa (Schinias, Greece)

Looking back, I almost didn’t go on the trip. I had lots of excuses as to why I shouldn’t – I had a long-term boyfriend that I didn’t want to leave, I didn’t want to be away from my family on my birthday, I couldn’t afford it, and I couldn’t take time off work. But as Rob says “Excuses are over. It’s time to live!” I made sure that each of those excuses where taken care of (the major one – my parents footing the bill as a graduation gift – thanks Mom & Dad!) so I could enjoy myself and really experience another culture.

I’m now planning another European adventure next April to Spain, Portugal, and Italy with another girlfriend. Since being bitten by the travel bug, I will definitely be using Rob and Kim’s recommendations in the future!

The moment you step off the plane in Italy you’re struck by one thing almost immediately. Everyone is skinny. I mean really skinny. How can this be? Doesn’t everyone look like Tony Soprano? Nope. Not at all. Those images you’re probably making in your head are Italian-Americans not Italians in Italy. Big difference.

Why are many Italian-Americans huge and many Italians from Italy thin as a rail? It seems that when you mix the American part, with the Italian part, things get larger. Kim and I just got back from a week in Vegas. Vegas is an obvious cross section of America so these differences became glaringly obvious. In walking around the casinos we couldn’t help but notice how massive everyone has become. I was recently talking to a pilot friend of mine who said that one of the reasons the airlines had to limit the number of bags on flights was because the average weight of passengers has gone up 20 pounds! Seat belt extensions didn’t even exist a few years ago, now they have at least a dozen on every flight.

Here’s what’s so confusing to me about this. Isn’t the “let’s slow down for hours and eat pasta” an Italian thing? The Italians are the ones that have like 5 courses right? How are they pulling this off? What about their neighbors, the French? Don’t they eat cream so thick that it would choke a donkey? Do they have special DNA that repels fat? Is it all that cigarette smoking? What is it?

If you spend some time with our Mediterranean counter parts you’ll observe a few things. Their eating habits on the surface may appear to be unremarkable, but if you dig deeper you’ll notice some significant differences.

1. They fill up on salad with almost every meal.

2. The portions are 25% less of what ours are.

3. They never snack or grab something as a quick bite in the kitchen (they eat as a family at specific times).

4. They only eat what’s fresh and never processed. It’s all about family, friends and whole food. Most Americans eat food from a box rather then from the earth.

5. They use olive oil in almost everything (helps fill you up with little downside).

6. For dessert it’s almost always fruit and nuts (rarely Gelato).

7. Fast food is almost non-existent in the culture (many McDonald’s have had to close down).

8. Meal time is a sacred event. You take your time, have great conversations, stories and laughter. Meals are eaten slowly, which means, you’re not forced in to a rushed indigestion coma and have plenty of time for digestion.

Food is so fresh in Italy that often times there isn’t even a menu in restaurants. The waiter will tell you what’s fresh and in season and create something each day around that. When the courses come out it does not look like the size of Maggiano’s portions. It’s more like the size of your fist.

So what do you think?

I’m Just a Kid From Queens

To answer a few questions about us. We are NOT trust fund babies. I’m a kid from Queens New York. I’m from a very blue collar background. My dad was a truck driver (retired now) and my mom worked random part time jobs while me and my 2 brothers went to school. Kim’s parents were high school teachers (retired now). So, we are not rich kids.

We are just two people that love to travel and wanted to figure out a way to pay for it. We figured out how to make “brick and mortar” money with various businesses, but what good was it when I was a slave to it and couldn’t break free to travel. Kim and I worked super hard over the past two years to figure out how to make what we call – Jet Set Money. Money that is created from an online business so we could do what we love to do – travel!

We have just put the finishing touches on “Jet Set Money” and if we do say so ourselves, it is AMAZING! We’re going to reveal what’s in it next week, but for today I just wanted to address some of the questions that people have been asking. So, in no particular order here are the basic questions (and our answers to them) that we’ve been getting asked about Jet Set Money.

Again, if you think you even might be interested go to the link below:

Q&A About The New Jet Set Money

1. I Don’t Want To Loose My Current Income For An Uncertain Income – Will I Have To?

No.

There is NO reason for you to loose the income you have worked so hard to create. Once you learn how to get your online business up and running, it will be generating income for you while you sleep – so you’ll have plenty of time to work. However, we will show you how to transition from 9-5 to living a Jet Set Life, if that’s what you’re ultimately after. If that’s not what you want then just use our course to learn how to make a great monthly income to take more trips!

2. I Have No Idea What My Niche Is – Will Jet Set Money Help Me Find My Niche?

Yes.

The most common block in beginning an online business is selecting your niche. We have taken care of that for you in several different ways. First, is our Niche Finding Bible that you’ll receive immediately when you join Jet Set Money, we will walk you through our proven step by step method of niche selection. Also, you’ll hear dozens of interviews with people on how they choose their niche and you’ll get very concrete ways that you can do the same and duplicate their amazing results. Finally, if all else fails we have a secret weapon on how to choose “A Niche Only Business” based on what’s hot in the current market. Either way you’re covered and you WILL have a niche when Jet Set Money is done with you.

3. I Have Kids And A Spouse And Don’t Have Much Extra Time – How Much Time Will This Take?

We designed Jet Set Money to easily work around your busy life. We recommend that you take one lesson each week over 6 months. You could easily listen to each lesson in the car on your commute to work or on your iPod while you’re working out. Take the course at whatever pace work best for you!

4. I Don’t Know A Thing About Marketing on the Internet - Will I Be Able To Easily Learn This New Skill Set?

Yes.

We actually don’t consider ourselves that internet savvy either. We will take you by the hand and walk you through every step and give you clear instructions with each lesson plan. Honestly, anyone can do this stuff. It’s just a matter of learning the principals and being willing to put them into action.

5. Why is Jet Set Money SO Focused on Interviews?

We are BIG believers in modeling. If someone produces a result – say generating $30,000 a month selling one e-book – I know I can produce the same result if I understand their formula. We are extracting the business formulas from the leaders in New Money. These are people who in many cases are “work at home millionaires”. They’ve mastered the art of wealth creation on the internet, but also, the art of living a life of fulfillment. We’ve designed this series to bring you their best strategies and distill their ideas sown to concepts and instructions that you can use right away.

FREE Bonus Interview From Jet Set Money:

Would $20,000 a Month Allow You To Jet Set Around The World Whenever You Wanted To?

I wanted to let you listen in to an interview I did for the first module of Jet Set Money and just imagine how different your life would be if you generated $20,000 a month by creating one sales page and selling one e-book with a companion audio.

Here’s the whole back story behind last week’s survey:

Kim and I are just two people that love to travel. We are NOT internet marketing Guru’s, nor are we IN the internet marketing business. We really are just two people that LOVE to travel.

A few years back (after reading the Four Hour Work Week) we went on a crazy search to try and figure out how to make some money to fund our travel habit with an online business. After doing a lot of things that didn’t work we began figuring out what did work (the 80/20 if you will) and we started making money online.

That’s when the crazy part started happening. Everyone wanted to know how we did it. At first, we spent a little bit of time answering phone calls and emails about it, but honestly after a while it became nuts. It was A LOT of work trying to explain a year of research to people.

Like I said, we are NOT in the internet marketing business and DON’T want to be. It’s just not where our heads are. We just want travel. But, that did not stop the emails, phone calls and questions from coming in. The truth is we love to help and we could see the frustration that people were having trying to figure this out.

So, we decided to do a survey and see if there really was THAT much of a demand or was it just a few people making a lot of noise. We kind of wanted to get some real data behind it.

The results of the survey were very clear. People wanted to know. We needed the extra work of putting a product together like we needed holes in our heads. We are so far behind in editing our travel videos and guidebooks that we really just don’t have the time to put one more thing on our plates.

But, after reading the survey, we knew we had to do it. We decided to put a product together to help people with this. It’s called “Jet Set Money” and it will be released in a few weeks – November 3 to be exact.

It was A LOT of work but we think it’s amazing. We’ll give you some more details about it next week, but suffice it to say – we think it’s really cool!

Kim even put together a really cool book called “7 Secrets To Go From The Rat Race To St. Tropez” as a gift to you. So, if you want to be the first to get an invite when the product is launched and want a FREE copy of “7 Secrets to Go From The Rat Race To St Tropez”

Just Click Here For Your Free Copy

We’ll be in touch with more details next week.

We recently sent out a survey regarding what you guys most wanted to know about having a Jet Set Life. While we are still tallying the results I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the responses so far.

If you haven’t taken the survey please help us out and click the link below.

Take the Survey Here

WHAT ARE THE TOP TWO THINGS THAT ARE HOLDING YOU BACK FROM LIVING A JET SET LIFE?

Time and Money. Yep. You guessed it. No big secret here. Most responses kind of went like this:

1. “I just don’t know where to start”.

2. “I don’t have the time to learn a new skill set because I’m working full time”.

It seemed many people were in kind of a “luke warm” place. In other words “I make a great living but I’m tied to my job“. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t what they wanted either.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP YOU OVERCOME THESE PROBLEMS?

The answer to this question was almost unanimous.

1. “Tell me how to do it”.

2. “Give me examples of people who are doing it”.

IF YOU COULD HANG OUT WITH US OVER A CUP OF COFFEE WHAT TWO Q’S WOULD YOU ASK US?

The answers to this question varied widely, but they all sort of boiled down to these two responses:

1. “How can you travel so much without going broke?”

2. “Can you help me have a similar life?”

HERE’S WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP

I think I have isolated the challenges people are having to the following three basic areas, but I need your help to let me know if I’m on the right track.

Would you mind helping me out by reading the three statements below and letting me know (by leaving a comment in the comment box) if you identify with these three items as being your biggest blocks to having the jet set life that you are really after (or do you have any other blocks that you would like to add)?

1. “I don’t want to loose the income I have from my current job to start something new”.

2. “I don’t have the time to learn a new skill set”.

3. “I don’t know what my niche is”.

The short answer is Kim and I are not exactly sure. We really could use your help!

As you know the Secrets of Successful Muses course was created to answer this one single question we get asked constantly…..How can I create my own online business and be able to travel like you guys?

When we first launched the course this past summer it was sold out in less than a week! The good news was that it was a WAY bigger success then we thought it would be. The bad news is that it was a lot of work! So, if we do decide to re-open it again we haveto keep it small and manageable.

Here’s where we could use your help. Kim and I are ALL about constant and never ending improvement in everything that we do! We don’t mind doing the work but we want it to be exactly what you’re looking for.

Would you mind helping us out and answering a brief survey here:

Thanks so much! We’ll keep you in the loop with the results as we get them. Until Then….

Excuses are over. It’s time to live!

Rob and Kim

P.S. If we do decide to re-open the course it will be on a first come
first serve basis. So, if you’re even thinking about it head over to the
‘Front of the Line’ list now and be the first to know when re-enrollment
opens.

Front of The Line

Are you able to jet off to St. Tropez at a moment’s notice while the whole financial world is crashing around you? Try not to take that question quite that literally and see if you could look beyond what could be construed as an arrogance. To ask it in a different way: Have you created some kind of business that is set up for the sole purpose of fulfilling your dreams?

What’s Your “Jet Set Life”?

Everyone has a different version of what they would consider to be their dream life. For Kim and I, it’s traveling around the world for weeks (months) at a time, creating guidebooks of the coolest spots on the planet and sharing with people. For you, it might simply be to take a few more weeks off a year, maybe just spend a bit more time with your family or maybe it is to Jet Set off for months at a time around the world! Whatever it is for you, we have to acknowledge one cold hard truth, it takes money to do it. Consistent and re-occurring moo-lah!

So Where Does The Money Come From?

So, where does the money come from and what kind of business do you create? If you’re like most people you’re probably already up to your eyeballs in work (that you don’t really love). The thought of adding one more thing to overwhelm you is not exciting. What if I told you that there is a Secret Society of people who have figured out how to do what they love to do, have the entire business on auto-pilot and generate the cash they want every month to live their version of a “Jet Set Life”?

Don’t Settle. Create The Life You Really Want!

Tony Robbins calls these guys the Masters of New Money. Kim and I simply call it having Jet Set Money. Whatever you call it, it doesn’t really matter. What does matter is living the lifestyle design that you want and not settling for where you currently are. O.k., so back to my original question.

Are you able to jet set off to St. Tropez at a moment’s notice?

If the answer is no and you wish it was yes, why do you think that is? Don’t answer just yet. I want you to REALLY think about this. A few things to consider: Is it that you don’t know where to begin? Is it that you “don’t have the time”? Is it that you don’t believe it’s possible. Where are the “blocks” for you? What is it really? What’s the TRUTH!

Can We Talk?

Let’s get the conversation going. Please let me know in the comment section below what your answers to the above questions are. Let it rip! Tell me what you’re really thinking and let’s get the dialog going and shape your destiny NOW!

In about 30 minutes a day I can run my entire company, Jet Set Life, from my iPhone. I’ll admit in advance, that most of the set up work to do this took hours of pre-planning, but once that’s done you’re pretty much good to go. In this post, I’ll briefly explain the macro view of how I do things, just to give you an idea of how you can implement the same procedures.

General

1. Processing My Email – I use the pre-loaded iPhone e-mail app and have it set to push from my G-mail account. I have two virtual assistants that shield me from 99% of emails that come in for me. I set a 5 sentence limit on my email responses. So, this process usually takes me about 5-7 minutes per day.

2. Managing Virtual Assistants – I have two VA’s in the Philippines that are outstanding. To manage their projects and our communications I use an app called Note Master. This app allows me to sync with the Google docs that I created for them. They each have two simple documents. The first document is called the “Master List” which is where I have identified their daily tasks and projects that I want them to do. The second doc is called the “Communication Log” which is used for our daily conversations and the random questions that occasionally come up. Each morning I open up the Note Master App and tell it to sync with my Google Docs. I then review only one doc, the “Communication Doc”, to see if there are any questions or concerns that I need to personally handle. There rarely are any. This takes me about 5 minutes.

3. Managing My Web Developer – I have an amazing web developer that I do roughly the same process with using the Note Master app. In his case, “The Master List” serves as the place that I add ideas of how I want to develop the site and “The Communication Log” functions the same way as above. Again, I only review the “Communication Log” for any questions that he has. As long as I’m clear in my instructions in the “Master Doc” there usually aren’t any questions. This process takes me about 5 minutes.

4. Voice Memos – If I find that I can’t communicate quickly and clearly to my VA’s, Web Developers or answer emails in less than 5 sentences I’ll use the “Voice Memo” pre-loaded app. I’ll simply record a better description of what it was that I was trying to say in the communication log. This takes me about 1-2 minutes and is only used occasionally.

5. Managing Multiple Projects – I manage all my projects with an app that’s designed with the “Getting Things Done” philosophy called Things. I only allow myself to work on three projects at any given time. Just three. When more projects come up I simply get them out of my head and on to a separate list inside of the “Things” app called “on deck”. Each morning I only look at the 3 simple projects that I’m working on and choose just 3 “mission critical actions” that I want to do that day towards completing those projects. This process takes me about 10 minutes.

Total Time – Roughly 30 minutes!

Crutch Activities

The following are crutch activities that I do when I’m bored, want to zone or just want to convince myself that I’m actually doing something productive when in reality I’m just being busy.

1. Facebook App – My VA approves all my friends and deletes the prickly hug crap. So, the only thing that’s left for me to do is post a status update. This takes me about 2 minutes.

2. Twitter App – I post the same status update on Twitter as I have on Facebook so whenever I make a Facebook update I simply use the cut and paste feature built into the iPhone to post it to Twitter. I found that the easiest app to do this with is the Twittelator App. This takes me about 1 minute (maybe less).

4. Word Press – I use this app to capture random ideas for future blogs. It has an option to save it locally on the iPhone or upload it directly to word press as a draft. The newer version actually allows you to publish your blog directly to word press from your iPhone. It’s hard to quantify how long it takes me to do this, because I use it whenever I’m feeling an “inspired action”.

3. A Small World – I wish I could share this one with you, but ASW is by invite only. ASW is a really cool social networking site that’s primarily targeted at travelers. I use the app just to check my ASW emails. I generally have only one or two emails per week and use the five sentence max rule for my replies. This takes me about 5 minutes.

So, all in all some days may take me 15 minutes and other days may take me 45 minutes but I probably average about 30 minutes per day Monday- Friday (and never on weekends:)

############

We are almost finished with the free version of our Jet Set Life Community. If you want to find out how to get a password just enter your name and email in the above email box and we’ll notify you as soon as it’s ready. It’s looking really cool!

I recently got my ass handed to me in an interview I did with world famous copywriter Chris Haddad. Ok, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but it did sting a bit. Chris is one of those genius guys, the kind that can write the most amazing sales copy you’ve ever read. Just for sport, and if you’re chosen, he will critique your sales letter. Chris agreed to critique mine and I agreed to allow him to record it for the world to see. This process was about as fun as a root canal. Here’s an example of the maestro in action.

One of the questions that Chris asked me (which is the crux of this entire post) was, “Who are you writing this sales letter to?” In other words, who is Jet Set Life’s target market demographic? I quickly responded that we have two market demos. The Jet Setter who buys our Secret List and the aspirational Jet Setter who joins our Muse Membership (our discussion was about the muse membership page).

Chris then asked me to describe the person as if he or she were sitting in front of me. Exactly who would he be and what would he want? I said that he we would probably be a 30 year old guy working in a cubicle that is married with two kids living in the suburbs, that hates his job and wants to live a jet set life. Sounds perfect, right? Sure, except for one thing, my wife didn’t agree. So, I began to investigate. Did you ever have one of those things that gets under your skin and you just can’t stop thinking about it? Well, this was exactly that such thing for me. I went back and reviewed a few of the emails I received from new members of Secrets of Successful Muses. I wanted to look for clues to who they were and what they were after. Eventually, after much digging, I found that I didn’t know what the hell I was talking about! I had no basis to draw those original conclusions. I just assumed them. And yes, I was wrong!

My search found a commercial airline pilot, an aerospace design engineer and a painter. Not one of them worked in a cubicle. In fact, many of them were serious professionals. What did they all have in common? They were all tired of swapping hours for dollars and wanted more. The “more” part is what they (we) all had in common.

I realized that everyone who is into having a jet set life wants the same thing. To have time and money to do what they love – travel. We can create all the videos and guidebooks of the all the jet set sexiest places on the planet, but if you don’t have those two currencies, time and money, you’re going to be watching from the sidelines.

I realized that the Jet Setters that I had been reaching out to is not who I thought they were. Woops, talk about a big mistake.

So, let me hear from you. Who are you? Step forward and identify yourself. Dramatic, I know. Reach back out to me in the comment section and tell me who you are and what you’re after so I can create what you want and need. Then, hopefully next summer, we’ll be sipping a cool glass of rosé together while gazing out at the Aegean.

#######################

On another note, we’re going to do a Jet Set Life get together in Florence, Italy on New Year’s Eve. If you want to be added to the list, add your name and email in the comment section.

With all the talk of the recession and the world about to implode economically, I was convinced that when I arrived in St. Tropez I would see a ghost town. Nope. In fact, I found the opposite. The hotels were overbooked and I had to pull strings just to get a room. The New Jet Set were there and ready to party!

If you’re looking for a place that will transcend you to another world of glitz, glamour and flat out excess, this is the place for you. This is by far the ultimate playground of the Jet Set. Don’t get me wrong – I did NOT do it on my 100 million dollar yacht, although I did party at the same places they did. I didn’t fly in on my G5 private jet either, but I did share the same beaches they did. I didn’t even drive my Bentley over from Monaco, but I did eat at the same restaurants that they did.

For me being a part of the NEW Jet Set means you get to experience it all AND have your muse making money while you’re doing it. In fact, we made more money the month we were there then we did the month before we left. What’s better than waking up a bit foggy from partying to see all the orders from the night before come in from all the different time zones?

If you haven’t joined our movement yet and want to become part of the new jet set just enter your info in the email box above and we’ll keep you in the loop.

Hey Everybody,

We have been getting some amazing letters since we’ve been here in France – mostly congratulating us on our new product, but there was one letter in particular that really stood out for me. I thought it was so cool that I asked him if I could post it and write a blog about it. He agreed and here it is. Enjoy!

Hi Robert and Kimberly,

I think you guys are awesome and are very inspiring people. Thank you, I wish you all the best in whatever you do.

You have inspired me to take a year out and pursuit the Jet Setting lifestyle starting with a 3 month stint in Thailand, then off to the Philippines and up through Vietnam. I have a few ventures I will be pursuing while away including an Emergecy Food Storage business that can and is currently run from a laptop.

I am going to be documenting the experience through my blog JetSetEntrepreneur (hope you don’t mind the name) so who knows, maybe our paths will cross.

I will continue to be following you guys. Have a great life.

…………………………………………….

Its 3.11am as I write this post from a small farm building outside Athlone around an hour and a half’s drive from Dublin, Ireland. I have just made it back from the festival and fireworks that conclude the annual Tri-Fest here. Over the weekend thousands of competitors, of varying degrees of fitness, have competed in the town’s Triathlon to pit their strength against 2km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10km of running. This year a local lad , Sean Keane, came from the back to win the elite mens race in an impressive 1 hour 45 minutes. Some pictures from the event are posted on my blog at JetSetEntrepreneur.com.

I have been kindly asked by Robert to write a guest post for Jet Set Life describing a philosophy that was inspired by the likes of Robert and Kimberly of “Jet Set Life” and others such as Tim Ferriss of “The four hour workweek”.

The self coined Jet Set Entrepreneurship.

Who am I?

I am a 24 year old entrepreneur from Liverpool in the Uk. I studied Industrial Design at university and previously had a design company called Nurtur which developed Mini BioSpheres named enu’s that encouraged school kids to learn about the ecology lifecycle. These are still being used in many schools across the Uk. I closed that company in 2008 in order to pursuit a career in Project Management with the Swiss Engineering company Sulzer. This went great for 18 months and I got to travel a fair bit, but the call of the entrepreneur was too great and so I handed in my notice and gave up my high paying and high position job in order to once again pursuit the life of an entrepreneur, this time as a jet setter.

So what is a Jet Set Entrepreneur?

By employing the effects of currency leveraging and combining them with the power of the internet for mass communication and outsourcing, Jet Set Entrepreneurs move their business out from the traditional office setting and structure and focus on a more exciting balance to business and lifestyle design abroad.

Jet Set Entrepreneurship vs traditional entrepreneurship.

Traditional entrepreneurship fundamentally focuses on having an office or base, filling that office or base with people in order to realize your idea and then trying to drive customers to your business/idea through direct advertising. The overheads associated with this approach are very high, usually requiring hefty bank loans and severely reduces the lifestyle quality of the entrepreneur as 14-16 hour days are typical and the risks are great.

The main focus of Jet Setting Entrepreneurship is on setting up and running low investment, non leveraged, cash generating ventures that are removed from an office, are run by temporary staff from around the world and focus on carefully benchmarked and targeted internet marketing. These can all be overseen on the move from a laptop anywhere in the world and are core to freeing up the entrepreneur’s most valuable asset, their time, so that the can enjoy the adventure.

JSE focuses on five core concepts in order to cut the business fat and create lean, mean, cash generating machines that are free from the main constraints of typical business practice and give the entrepreneur the time and financial freedom to explore the world.

1. Reducing overhead drastically by moving or traveling to where living costs are low.

2. Using the power of the internet and outsourcing principles to remove the need to have an office and permanent high cost staff.

3. Outsourcing business activities to where labour costs are low, therefore, drastically reducing the cash flow burden.

4. Moving advertising solely online where customer targeting can be much more effective and flexible, and costs vs results can be effectively benchmarked.

5. Streamlining and automating their businesses so that the entrepreneur is removed from the business equation as soon as possible.

The Jet Set Entrepreneur 12 month trial

Starting September 11th 2009 I will be flying out to begin a 12 month experiment into the practicalities of Jet Set Entrepreneurship with the aim of continuing it indefinitely if successful.

The journey starts with a 3 month stint in Thailand moving on to the Philippines and up through Vietnam with plans for Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Argentina in the new year.

I will be documenting every aspect of my journey through JetSetEntrepreneur.com with advice and tips to inspire and encourage anyone interested in giving it a go. For those not interested in becoming a JSE there will be plenty of articles on lifestyle and business design, travel, living abroad and productivity as well as photos and videos from the road.

If you have enjoyed the Jet Set life, which I am sure you have, then I encourage you to check it out.

My thanks goes out to Robert and Kimberly for generously giving me a platform to describe Jet Set Entrepreneurship, for the inspiration and for the excellent material they produce at Jet Set Life. I am sure you’ll agree we have all been inspired by these two great trend setters and I know we can expect to see more great material in the future. All the best to you both.

To all Jet Set Life’s readers, thanks for reading and I hope you will join me on my journey.

How did you get involved in P90X and wind up being in a video working out with Tony Horton?

Everything started for me back in 2002. Being miserably out of shape, I bought the Power 90 program off of the informercial. From there, Slim in 6 was my next program. I ended up being selected as one of the success story winners from Slim in 6, and that won me a trip to Hollywood. My last night there, I met Tony during a dinner party. He had just finished running his first test group through P90X, and he told me all about the program. Tony's and my personalities just clicked, and we became fast friends. Not long after, P90X came out and I was among the first 100 Beachbody customers to go through P90X (which gave me some incredible results). From there, I attended a few of Tony's fitness camps, and our friendship continued to grow. Then, in 2007, he called and told me that Beachbody wanted to cast me in the P90X+ series......the rest was history.

Tony’s and my personalities just clicked, and we became fast friends. Not long after, P90X came out and I was among the first 100 beach body customers to go through P90X (which gave me some incredible results). From there, I attended a few of Tony’s fitness camps, and our friendship continued to grow. Then, in 2007, he called and told me that Beachbody wanted to cast me in the P90X+ series……the rest was history.

2. P90X is really amassing a cult following – why do you think that is?

Quite simply, because it works. With all the garbage out there being sold on infomercials, it’s refreshing to have products that actually deliver what they promise. Every program that Beachbody releases is a winner – and they all give people the results that they are looking for. What sets P90X aside from most other programs is the intensity. It’s more challenging than anything else out there – so the results are much more dramatic than anything on the market. You take an average person, provide them with a detailed diet guide and incredible workouts, and the end result is super-fit ripped people!! Who WOULDN’T want to do P90X?!

3. Is it true that the P90X series that people are buying is now 6 years old and is still selling like gang busters? What are your thoughts on that?

P90X rolled out to the public in 2004. Initially, it didn’t do very well in the test market (except for those of us who were dedicated Beachbody customers, and we KNEW it was a hit). As more and more people started doing the program and getting exceptional results – more and more people started buying it. Here we are in 2009, and P90X is the number 1 infomercial in the country. There are Pro Athletes and celebrities clamouring to get their hands on it, and now THEY are enjoying the results of Tony’s in-home boot camp. I see it continuing to grow in popularity and it makes me anxious to see some other programs that Tony will follow up with (for it). With the growing number of people who are now hooked on high-intensity workouts, I can see more programs coming to “raise the level”.

4. What was it like shooting the plus series and what is the best way to incorporate that series into the P90X routine?

It was an incredible experience shooting the X+ series with Tony Horton and Traci Morrow. Once I turned my fitness around and got REALLY fit, it was a goal of mine to be able to one day be in a video workout with Tony. To be part of something that has such a positive impact in so many lives was an absolute honor. The P90X+ series comes with a detailed program guide, so all anyone would have to do is follow the instructions. Just like the original P90X series – P90X+ delivers the “autopilot” guide to success.

5. P90X is obviously a very aggresive program – would you say that it’s primarily for people that are in good shape already and want to get into great shape?

P90X is not really intended for beginners, but Tony and “the kids” did such a great job of providing modifications, someone that is in less than peak shape CAN get through it. By the end of their 90 days, they’ll look and feel like a whole new person…..and that’s a beautiful thing.

6. What type of workout do you do when traveling (what sort of equip do you bring with you)?

When I’m traveling, I do P90X workouts. I always bring resistance bands with me, and I’ve worked out in person enough with Tony that I can come up with a strength, cardio, or flexibility workout on the fly – with no equipment at all. I’m all about thinking outside of the box, and I always reach for the next higher level (of intensity). Some of the best workouts I’ve had were at times when I was on the road (and with little or no equipment).

7. Your body is shredded. Would you mind giving us a sample of your daily diet from start to finish for one day?

Let me start by saying that I no longer count calories, and I don’t measure the amount of food I eat, so these are going to be ballpark estimates on quantities. ;) Now, this is just a staple of one day, but I eat very close to the same things on a daily basis. Breakfast, for example, is always the same for me, and ALL of the ingredients are mixed together. When it comes to fluid intake, I drink either water (1 liter per 50 lbs of bodyweight), green tea, and occasionally (but rarely) 1 cup of coffee.

Breakfast

Oatmeal (approx. 1.5 cups)

Whey Protein Powder (varied brands), 2 scoops, 48 grams of protein

Creatine Ethyl Ester powder (4 grams)

Flax seed (2 tablespoons)

AM Snack

Fruit (apple or banana – any fruit is fine)

Cliff Energy Bar or Cascadian Farms organic granola bar

Lunch

1 lbs of vegetables (varies from day to day)

(2) Morning Star Vegetarian burgers

PM Snack

Protein Shake (mixed with water/ice), 2 scoops, 48 grams of protein or Greens Plus Protein Bar

Cascadian Farms Organic Granola Bar

Dinner

Bag (1 lbs) of Spinach

1 can of Albacore tuna or salmon

1 cup of diced tomatos

1 cup of Black Bean Pico De Gallo

Salsa or Balsamic Vinegar

PM Snack

Shakeology

2 scoops of Whey Protein Powder (48 grams of protein)

*NOTE* I would like to point out that quantities above may vary slightly from day to day based on how I’m feeling. In time, you will learn to read your body and know if you need to increase or decrease your intake slightly. On days that I train in double sessions (for example), my food intake is almost always higher – simply because of the additional caloric burn.*

On occasion, if I’m really hungry within that 3 hour window of bed time, I’ll have one additional Protein Shake (always mixed with just water and ice). Because I eat a Pescatarian diet (fish and veggies), and I do not consume dairy, I supplement quite a bit as well. Without getting too specific, below is a summary of my supplements:

P90X Multivitamins

Flax Oil Capsules

Thermogenic Fat Burners

Calcium with Vitamin D

CLA

Ginko Biloba

St. John’s Wort

Alfalfa (for joints – VERY cheap alternative to Glucosamine/Chondroitin)

8. What is your biggest challenge in maintaining your body?

At this point in the game, it’s pretty easy for me to maintain my body. I always try to improve on my strength, flexibility, and endurance – but as far as appearance, I’m right where I want to be. I don’t have too many urges for bad foods anymore, so I’m pretty much on autopilot. I’m walking around at about 5% bodyfat year round – and that’s where I feel the best.

9. Do you have a cheat day? If so, would you mind describing it for us.

I may have a cheat meal every now and again, but it’s been about 8 months since my last one – pizza remains my favorite splurge food, but when I have it, it’s always whole wheat thin crust, loaded with veggies, and no cheese. Does that really count as a splurge meal?

10. What do you wish that people really “got” regarding the P90X program (or perhaps understood better)?

The fact that it is a lifestyle change. A lot of people do their first round of P90X and tell me that they had pretty good results, but they didn’t really follow the diet guide. To really reap the full benefits of P90X, you HAVE to follow the diet guide and workout with as much intensity as you can. Its not just about looking good, its about feeling good as well. When you workout and eat clean, every aspect of your life will improve.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to share my perspective with you. Fitness has opened more opportunities in my life than you would believe. My entire life perspective changed once I found health and fitness – all the way down to my career…..which is now full-time fitness coaching for Team Beachbody.
