Great information. Loved the photos!
Please see also an excellent website about tango – providing many well researched articles about tango (including history of tango, milongas, embellishments, tango legends and lots of others) on

Thanks for sharing your tango account with us! I have just spent the last 2 months in Buenos Aires; I think I just missed you. I often went to La Viruta and got private lessons. I made a 3 minute video showing my tango progress covering my entire time in Buenos Aires. I had already planned to learn some tango before I read Tim Ferriss's book, but I've been told that my shared experience in the video seems more "real". Hat's off to Tim for becoming a "world champion" but mastering the basics was enough of a challenge for me :)
I speak Spanish quite well so that really helped me get the most out of it, but the basic lessons aren't too bad in La Viruta if you can mimic! If you get a multiple entry card it's actually AR$28 for 4 lessons so that's even cheaper (US$2). I learned more in my private lessons but I went to La Viruta because of the lovely people there - I made so many friends each time!
I hope you won't forget your uno dos tres cinco seis steps too quickly :)
